چکیده

Limited feedback systems send quantized channel state information (CSI) from the receiver to the transmitter for improving either the throughput or the link reliability. This paper proposes a framework for analyzing multiantenna limited feedback systems with temporally-correlated flat-fading channels. Developed on a Markov chain modeling quantized CSI, the proposed framework consists of analytical results concerning the feedback rate, the feedback compression, the capacity with feedback delay, and the decay rate of the capacity gain due to feedback delay. These results constitute a set of useful tools for designing a wide-range of limited feedback system. The application of the proposed framework is illustrated for a multiple-input-single-output (MISO) beamforming system, where the feedback consists of the quantized channel gain and direction. Feedback rates are shown to increase linearly with the Doppler frequency in a Rayleigh fading channel with Clarke’s spectrum. Furthermore, capacity gains are found to decrease exponentially with feedback delay. From theses results, useful design guidelines can be derived for choosing system parameters ranging from the reception vehicular speed to the feedback channel rate.

Low-rate Feedback for Real Measured Temporally Correlated Mimo Channels

This work presents a summary of a proposal for a feedback scheme in a multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) communication system based on a differential quantization strategy applied to the channel response. The performance of this scheme is evaluated using real data and channel measurements obtained with the Eurecom’s MIMOOpenAir Sounder (EMOS). More concretely, the impact of having a delay in the f...

A Minimal-Cost Inherent-Feedback Approach for Low-Power MRF-Based Logic Gates

The Markov random field (MRF) theory has been accepted as a highly effective framework for designing noise-tolerant nanometer digital VLSI circuits. In MRF-based design, proper feedback lines are used to control noise and keep the circuits in their valid states. However, this methodology has encountered two major problems that have limited the application of highly noise immune MRF-based circui...

On Optimizing Feedback Interval for Temporally Correlated MIMO Channels With Transmit Beamforming And Finite-Rate Feedback

Assuming perfect channel state information (CSI), a receiver in a point-to-point MIMO channel can compute the transmit beamforming vector that maximizes the transmission rate. For frequencydivision duplex, a transmitter is not able to estimate CSI directly and has to obtain a quantized transmit beamforming vector from the receiver via a rate-limited feedback channel. We assume that time evoluti...

Bounds for Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Feedback via Two-way Relay Channel

In this study, we introduce a new two-way relay channel and obtain an inner bound and an outer bound for the discrete and memoryless multiple access relay channels with receiver-source feedback via two-way relay channel in which end nodes exchange signals by a relay node. And we extend these results to the Gaussian case. By numerical computing, we show that our inner bound is the same with o...
